The website you can walk away with

There is a quiet trap in a lot of website deals. The site looks like yours. It has your name on it. But the code lives in someone else's account, the content is locked in a platform you rent, and the domain is registered to the agency. Stop paying and it all goes dark. That is not ownership. That is a lease you did not know you signed.

We build the opposite way on purpose. When the final invoice is paid, everything is yours, in writing, with a handover you could give to any developer on earth.

What 'yours' actually includes

• The code, in your own repository, not ours.
• The content and images, in a system you can edit without us.
• The domain and hosting, registered to you, in accounts with your name on them.
• A short written handover and a walkthrough, so a future developer needs nothing from us to continue.

Why we give away the exit

It sounds like bad business to make ourselves easy to leave. It is the opposite. A client who stays because leaving is painful is not a happy client, they are a trapped one. A client who could leave any time and chooses to stay is the only kind of relationship worth having.

The best reason to keep working with a studio is that you want to, not that you cannot get your own website back.

Most of our clients do stay, for maintenance and for the next thing. But they stay by choice, holding every key to the door. That is the only handover we are comfortable shipping.
